The Academic activities of the Government Industrial Training Institute Domchanch in the District of Koderma of Jharkhand State were started from 1st November, 2016 of the Academic Session: 2016-17-18.


The Government Industrial Training Institute, Domchanch, District Koderma, State Jharkhand is situated at about one kilometre from the Block cum Circle Office (Prakhand sah Anchal Karyalay) of Domchanch and around 3 km away from Domchanch Thana. It is connected with Koderma-Giridih State Highway by a service road of two kilometre length.


The Institute campus is having Administrative Building, Workshops, Canteen, Student Hostel having seat accommodation for 100 numbers of students and Staff Quarters. All these buildings were constructed by Government of Jharkhand on 3 acres of government land. The Jharkhand Bijli Vitaran Nigam Limited (JBVNL) is supplying electric power for the Institute through 11 KV extension line with maximum 75 KW power.The water for the Institute has been arranged through 4 numbers of bore-well pumps in the campus, each having capacity of 1.5 HP.


The Concession Agreement was signed on 29th March, 2016 between Government of Jharkhand (GOJ) and Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC), entrusting DVC to set up a state-of-the-art Industrial Training Institute under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).


To be a unique Industrial Training Institute in developing dynamic, disciplined and courteous skilled workforce for serving the domestic industrial sector of the country and the society at large and also for contributing to the growth of the country


  • To impart quality education and training in dynamic and disciplined academic environment.
  • To extend ‘Good Industry Practice’ i. e. the practices, methods, techniques, standards, skills, diligence, efficiency, reliability and prudence which are generally and reasonably expected       from a reasonably skilled and experienced operator engaged in the Industries.
  • To create an encouraging environment with new ideas and vision for growing personally and professionally.
  • To inculcate the culture of courtesy, integrity, value and ethics.
  • To provide quality skilled manpower to the industrial sectors of the country and society at large.


The affiliation of the Institute to Jharkhand State Council for Vocational Training (JSCVT) with effect from the academic session 2016-17-18 and onwards is awaited. The inspection to this effect was carried out by JSCVT on 29.03.2017.


Both the Trades, Fitter and Electrician, are of two years (24 months) full time course. For both the Trades, the syllabus and examinations contained in the norms / guidelines of Directorate General of Employment & Training (DGE&T) / National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) are being followed.


Electrician trade focuses on various aspects of electricity such as – wiring (residential, commercial and industrial), home appliances, electrical machines, lighting, electrical installations etc.

There are two Trades viz. Fitter and Electrician. Each Trade is having 2 + 2 units. Unit means 16 (sixteen) numbers of Students for each Trade.

In terms of Agreement with Government of Jharkhand, admission of 50% of the Students is through Government Quota and admission of balance 50% of the Students is through Management Quota.


As per Agreementwith Government of Jharkhand, the Governing Body of the Institute is the Institute Management Committee (IMC). The IMC consists of members from GOJ and DVC, the Corporate Entity, and is headed by a member nominated by the Corporate Entity. The IMC is responsible for the management of the Institute.


Direction of Govt. of Jharkhand was received to take over the movable and immovable assets of the Institute, vide letter no. 332 dated 06.08.2016 of Deputy Commissioner, Koderma and letter no. 05/ Training (CSR) – 412 / 2015 – 1199 dated 09.08.2016 of Director, Employment and Training, GOJ.In those letters, the Principal, ITI Koderma was authorised for the assignment on behalf of GOJ.The Estate Officer, KTPS, DVC was entrusted with the assignment on behalf of DVC, vide office order no. KT / DGM / Estate / 16- 863 dated 30.09.2016. On deployment of security staff by the agency, the assets of the Institute was taken over on 25.10.2016 vide letter no. 279 dated 25.10.2016, in terms of the Agreement dated 29.03.2016. Subsequently, the movable assets of the Institute, as received from GOJ, were handed over to M/s Jharkhand Educational Development Trust, Bokaro.


M/s Jharkhand Education Development Trust, Bara Imam Bara Road, Sultan Nagar, Chas, Bokaro - 827013 has been engaged for establishing the Institute and running it for a period of three (03) years with effect from 1st November, 2016.
